On-Call Role Explained
As an on-call caregiver, your responsibilities include:
- Being available during assigned nights and weekends to cover last-minute or unscheduled shifts
- Responding promptly when contacted by the scheduling team
- Providing compassionate care for clients who need assistance during emergencies, staff shortages, or schedule changes
- Flexibility is key: you may receive calls hours or even a day in advance, and shifts can range from a few hours to full overnight coverage
- Your role ensures clients receive continuous care without interruption, especially during nights, weekends, and holidays
This role is ideal for caregivers who want extra income without committing to a fixed weekly schedule, while still maintaining professional experience and flexibility.

Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate in-home care to clients
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation)
- Provide companionship and support to improve clients’ quality of life
- Monitor and report changes in client condition
- Maintain a safe and clean home environment
Requirements
- Active CNA, HHA, or PCA certification in Virginia
- Current CPR / First Aid and TB test (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable transportation in Northern Virginia
- Strong communication skills and a caring, dependable attitude
- Ability to be flexible and responsive for on-call nights and weekends
